Dr. Barthelemy’s career is marked by an extraordinary blend of scientific achievement and visionary leadership. He served as the National Director of the National Aerospace Plane Program, where he reported directly to the White House and led the development of the nation's hypersonic aerospace plane, a pioneering project in the field of advanced aerospace technology. During his tenure as a member of the Federal Senior Executive Service, Dr. Barthelemy was the Technical Director of the Air Force Wright Aeronautical Laboratories at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, the Air Force's largest research and development complex. His strategic oversight and technical expertise contributed to significant advancements in aerospace research and development.
In addition to his government service, Dr. Barthelemy has been a consultant to major aerospace industry companies and federal organizations, including Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, the Department of Défense, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. His role as a Visiting Scientist at the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and his position as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Dayton underscore his dedication to bridging academic research and practical innovation.
Dr. Barthelemy’s educational foundation is as impressive as his professional achievements. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering and Physics from MIT, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Nuclear Physics/Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University. This extensive academic background laid the groundwork for his pioneering work in both technical and interdisciplinary fields.
